Not Quite All There

Christmas was absolutely wonderful....such a fun, relaxing time with my family. We enjoyed celebrating our Savior's birth and being together....I love them all so much! I am realizing much more that after every time we all leave I get so sad and depressed because I miss them so much and don't quite act like myself. :( My husband is so sweet during this time and has learned that I just need to cry it out. :) It takes me a couple days to get back to normal so I am still in the transitioning period.....almost there. :)

Also it doesn't help that our real Christmas tree was completely dead when we got back so we had to take it down and then of course I took all of the other decorations down along with it.....which is pretty depressing. Everything seems so bare! But, I am excited because it is almost a NEW YEAR and I am am eagerly awaiting to see what the Lord is going to do in 2010!

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" -2 Corinthians 5: 16-18....I love this verse! Even though it is talking about our lives before and after Christ, I love looking ahead to a new year and seeing it as a fresh new start!

I'll be posting our Christmas pictures tomorrow.

Goodnight all. :)

Happy Birthday Beloved :)

Matthew Ryan Garlich....
The Lord brought you into the world 25 years ago today and I am so thankful that he did.
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all of my prayers for you, I always pray with joy..." -Philippians 1:3-4

As we celebrate your birthday today I want you to know how much I love you and am truly blessed because you are in my life.
You constantly make me laugh, encourage me, show Christ's love to me, and lead me gently. You are silly, tender with me, and yet a "man's man" :)....You are my very best friend who I can share everything with. I can't wait to continue to celebrate many more birthdays with you.

This was in January after your 21st birthday.....right after we started dating :)
I love your zest for life and how much joy you bring to others :)

I love how much you love our nieces (and all kids) and how sweet you are with them....I know you are going to be the BEST dad someday! :)

You make me feel so special :)....this was on our honeymoon in Savannah!
More silliness :)
You are so handsome....these next two pictures were on our wedding day :)

Happy Birthday Baby! I love you so much! :)

A Wonderful Wednesday

Well today started out like any other normal weekday and has ended just perfect! I was able to get off work early and come home and we started the party off right by playing games. Lucy's favorite was Mad Gab of course.

Mom and Dad G.....such cute partners :)

Lucy goose loves her Aunt Kelly and Uncle John :)

And then after dinner we all got into the holiday spirit....Lucy joined in too! :) Here she is sporting a santa hat!

Apparently getting into the spirit of the holidays makes
Luc a little bonkers so we decided to take the hat off her :)

We watched the timeless classic "A Christmas Carol" and then opened presents. I have one amazing mother-in-law and sister-in-law because seriously they get me the cutest things EVER! :) Can't wait to wear my new things!

What a wonderful evening! I can't wait till tomorrow to celebrate my wonderful husband's birthday!!!! :)

The Day That Keeps Going and Going and Going....

Today has been just one of those LONG days....
Ya'll know what I am talking about. One of those where you think it should be getting close to 5:00 and its only 2:15. Ugh...
I just have so much to look forward to this week (And next week deserves a WHOLE other post which I will get to later on in the week......SOOOO excited!) but I still have time before all of that happens. I'm praying that tomorrow goes by quickly because on Wednesday we have some very special people visiting us and Thursday is one very special person's birthday! :) (No, not mine....)

Wednesday, my precious in-laws, Mom and Dad Garlich AND sis-in-law Kelly and her "manly man" {hahaha} bf John are coming to visit. We cannot WAIT for them to come! And Thursday, December 17th my husband, Matthew Ryan Garlich, will turn A QUARTER OF A CENTURY old! That's right, folks, Matt will be 25! I can't believe it! That is halfway to 30....whoa, we are getting old. Actually, I'm still 22 so I'm a spring chicken compared to him. :)
We will be of course celebrating the birth of my most favorite person in the whole wide world AND doing our Christmas with the Garlichs since we will be with my family for Christmas.

Here are some pictures of the whole Garlich family at our beach trip this past summer....

The best mother and father-in law a girl could ask for :)

Kel and John :)

And I wish these people could join us too, but they have to work! It's Gregory and his wonderful gf Hope :)

Well, that is all for now. I totally just did this post at work....uh oh! ;) No worries...I was just helping my day go by a little faster! :)

City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks, Dressed in Holiday Style

......In the air there's a feeling of Christmas :)
Children laughing,
People passing,
meeting smile after smile.

And on every street corner you'll hear....
Silver Bells, Silver Bells....
It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling....
Hear them ring?
Soon it will be Christmas Day! :)

We have been in the Christmas spirit at the Garlich house besides my poor husband having knee surgery this past week. He is doing MUCH better, though...PTL! :)
I'll leave you with a funny little story :)

For those of you who don't know, my husband is the Asset Protection manager at Target....he was the closing manager this past Friday night and has a lot to do in order to close down the store. One of those things is making sure every "team member" is out of the building before he closes everything down. He says that they always announce over the loud speaker a bunch of times to come to the front & that it is time to leave. He had one last call and asked several other red shirted peeps if there was anyone else left and they all said no. So, the next morning we are enjoying our breakfast and he gets a text from the opening manager that ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES WAS LEFT IN THE BUILDING! And Matt just laughs....I was like, oh my gosh! But this man apparently isn't quite all there and didn't even call anyone....he just stayed there all night and then nonchalantly tells the people in the morning that he got left. Crazy.....and thankfully Matt wasn't in trouble because he followed their protocol. I totally thought of that movie with Natalie Portman where she lives in Wal-Mart! :)

Well I hope everyone has a great Sunday afternoon! I am excited because our Fellowship Group Christmas Party is tonight! :) So long!

From the mouth of a pooch

WARNING: This post is really cheesy because I am in a silly mood! :)

Hi guys! Lucy here. So as you all know, my mom is really horrible about keeping this blog up to date so I am just going to take matters into my own paws and do it for her. Here are a couple of pictures from our Thanksgiving....Sadly, we couldn't spend the holiday with our families but we did enjoy it with our very best friends. Mom and Aunt Jo did AN amazing job cooking all by themselves and Daddy and Uncle Kevin were very sweet to let them know! :)

Well.....that's all for now. I'll try and help mom be a better blogger! :) Just know she has the best intentions. :)
