Five Months!!

Our angel Grayson turned 5 months old on March 4th.  This month was full of fun times, still some sleep struggles :(, and several firsts for our little man.

This month was pretty special because it was Gray's first wedding.  It wasn't just any wedding, though- it was his Uncle Gregory and Aunt Hope's wedding!  Because I was focusing so much on Grayson and Matt was the best man, sadly we don't have ANY pictures on our camera BUT  the professional photographer got some of our whole family on Matt's side and also some of just our little family of 3. (Sorry Lucy ;)) I can't wait to see these and hopefully they are good because Grayson looked ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. (No bias here whatsoever. ;))

The wedding was about an hour from Orlando (8 hours away from us) and was Grayson's first road trip longer than the 5 1/2 hours it takes to get to Pensacola. Let's just say from now on 5 1/2 hours may be our max.  Just kidding of course Nonna and Papa- we will be coming to your house again I promise! :)  Baby G did amazing for the first 6 hours, the 7th was touch and go and the last hour was pretty much horrendous.  He was SO overtired and SO wanting to be out of his seat that he was so miserable he made me cry too.  Matt joked that he wasn't sure who was crying worse- he or I.  I just HATED seeing my little man cry like that because it hardly ever happens.  But, we made it and once we got there, little angel lived up to his angelic nick named self and all of Matt's family pretty much wanted to take him home.  He did SO well the entire weekend with short naps, missing naps, and late bedtimes.  I am so thankful that we have an easy going baby.  Everyone made sure to tell us that we are blessed and we know that for sure! :)

This month our sweet boy got even sweeter if possible.  He truly lights up and smiles with his WHOLE face.  I love that we have the same smile because both of our eyes get really squinty when we smile.  He has started laughing with a real belly laugh instead of his cute little laugh sounding noise.  A precious thing that Grayson has started doing is now in the morning and after almost every nap he wakes up SO VERY HAPPY.  He smiles so big when he sees me, kicks his little arms and legs like he's doing a happy dance and starts talking to me.  It's pretty much my favorite thing ever.

We have an official roller in both directions on our hands and a STRONG baby boy.  He rolled over from his back to his belly for the first time at the beginning of this month and I am a little scared that he may start crawling or walking early because ALL he wants to do is move and stand.  I forgot to make note of it on the last post, but at our four month checkup, the doctor pulled him up using his hands from the laying down position and then he stood straight up as she was holding onto his hands.  He had been doing that since 3 1/2 months and she was impressed and said that is usually something that doesn't happen until 6 months!  He loves to "jump" when we are holding him as he stands on our lap or the floor.  He also has super duper strong ab muscles and can "sit" with little or no assistance for very short periods of time.  I will sit on the floor and he will be sitting in front of me and he uses his abs to lunge forward.  Sometimes he stays there and can support his body on his hands and sometimes when he lunges forward he acts like he is going to start crawling right then and there. Crazyness.

My angel bear,
What a fun month, my precious one.  Mommy and daddy loved showing you off to your extended family and having everyone dote on you and say how good of a baby you are!  Sometimes when I look at you I can't get over how much you've grown in just 5 short months.  It makes me want to stop time because I know the next 5 months are going to go just as fast and then we will be nearing your first birthday.  Oh, goodness my heart can't handle that.  You have the sweetest and happiest temperament and if all of your needs are met, you will just smile and laugh and LOVE to be around people.  I love that sometimes you still fall asleep while nursing right before bed.  It doesn't happen many nights but I love it when it does.  It's our little time together and you are so cuddly and warm and precious I just can't handle it.  Your daddy loves coming home and hanging out with you, little one.  He is the best dad to you- just adores being with you and talking to you.  Part of me is so excited for the day that he comes home from work and you go running to the door saying "Daddy's home!" but part of me gets so very sad thinking about that because then you won't be my baby anymore.  Well, you'll always be my first baby.  You will always hold such a special place in my heart, even when you are a grown man with a wife and children of your own.  I pray that you will be a man who loves the Lord with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength and strive to put God first in all that you do.  I pray you won't be ashamed of the gospel but tell others about Jesus with boldness and without hesitation.  You are my sweet, sweet baby boy and I just can't get enough of you.
