Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken

Via

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe."
Proverbs 18:10

This morning we sang a new song which I found out after looking it up it is actually an old hymn.
I love our worship team because we sing so many hymns but they revamp them.
I know the Lord wanted me to hear it this morning because it hit me right
when and where I needed it.
Tears began streaming down my face and He showed me
a little more of WHO He is.

He showed me that yes, we will face trials on earth
but it is all for his glory and our good.
And that He is guiding us along the way.
Soon, we will see Him face to face and it will all be worth it.
No more trials, no more pain.
But life forever in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
How am I going to live my short days here on earth?
Pining after the things of this world or living for His glory?
I want to choose you, Jesus.

I'll share several verses from Jesus, I my cross have taken...

Jesus, I my cross have taken
All to leave and follow Thee
Destitute, despised, forsaken
Thou from hence my All shalt be
Perish every fond ambition,
All I've sought or hoped or known;
Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.

Go, then earthly fame and treasure
Come disaster, scorn, and pain!
In thy service pain is pleasure;
with Thy favor loss is gain.
I have called Thee Abba Father!
I have stayed my heart on Thee.
Storms may howl and clouds may gather,
All must work for good to me.

Man may trouble and distress me
Twill but drive me to Thy breast
Life with trials hard may press me,
Heaven will bring me sweeter rest
Oh 'tis not in grief to harm me
While Thy love is left to me;
Oh,' twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with thee.

Haste then on from grace to glory,
Armed by faith and winged by prayer;
Heaven's eternal days before thee
God's own hand shall guide thee there.

Soon shall close the earthly mission,
Swift shall pass thy pilgrim days,
Hope soon change to glad fruition,
Faith to sight and prayer to praise.

Today you have extended God's glory (according to Radical). You are a precious treasure to me.
