Beyond Blessed

I just have to share how great God is and how he uses people in our lives to encourage us and "spur one another on onward love and good deeds" (Hebrews 10:24). I have the most precious, wonderful mentor who I meet with every other week, Julia. She is the dearest most wonderful woman who is in love with the Lord and is such a grace-filled wife and mother. I love how real I can be with her....she never condemns or judges me, but speaks truth in my life and holds me accountable. She is bold and so prayerful in her every thought, word, and action. I am so thankful for her continually pouring into me. I pray that God continues to use her in my life so that I can learn to strive to be a selfless, loving wife...a Proverbs 31 woman, and later a godly mother.

Today I went to her house and I can't tell you all enough how encouraged I always am upon leaving. She was telling me how personally she has been so led to live a life of purpose, being ready for Christ's return. Our pastor has been digging through Luke, specifically lately Luke 12. This is a particular passage he went through last week....(Luke 12:35-40)

"Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him".

Upon reading this it doesn't seem like it is applicable to our current lives, but digging deeper I have found such relevancy that we need to hear. God has entrusted us with so many things and we need to honor him with how we live. We need to be ready for his coming with our lamps burning. I was thinking about this today after meeting with Jules and I realize so much of my time is wasted on silly things of this world that will not matter. It is so difficult to live with an eternal mindset when our minds (LIKE MINE :)) are filled with junk of this world instead of renewing our minds with the truth of God's word. I really want to be prayerful about considering how my time is spent....am I glorifying God with it? Most of the time that answer is no.....I am wasting it. Thankfully, God gives us new days and new mercies every morning. He refreshes us with the power of his Holy Spirit inside of us and the powerful, sweet words in the bible. Thank you Lord! :)

So.......one last thing....I am super duper stoked to be spending the weekend with my sisters, parents, and nieces. I am leaving my hubby here because he is working all weekend which is a bummer but I am so excited to see everyone! Can't wait for precious quality time with my fam. WOO HOO!!
